I hope you all had a great weekend. We had fun on the road bike this time around…

It was a special event, the SPAR ONE DAY CLASSIC held at Halls farmstall… which were raising funds and awareness for CANSA.
Great turnout of riders on the day. I decided to do event and to be part of this great initiative. We went out onto the Sabie/Lydenburg road for about 25km and then turned towards white river on the heidel eggs/brondal road… and then back again to Mbombela stadium where the finish was. The race was about 70km in total and about 900m of climbing. We were 3 riders that broke away from the main field of riders –  at the 1st climb out of nst, then we managed to increase our gap and the bunch couldn’t catch up again. Our finish time was 2h47,and avg speed of 36km/h. It was a sprint finish towards the line between myself and JP Jung of Bells cycling team. He just managed to outsprint me by a mere split second. Great strong ride by the youngster and I was happy with my 2nd place overall and 1st sub vet men.

RESULTS
1ST JP JUNG ( BELLS CYCLING TEAM)
2ND HENNIE KRIEK (MOPANI PHARMACY CYCLING TEAM)
